Hi! My name is Emily
I started like most biomedical designers, I loved art and science in high school and didn’t want to choose between them when it came to my career. My experience working at pools where I developed a passion for teaching, high school where I learned the importance of art as a communication tool, and experience in the Guelph Anatomy Program set the stage for my career as a biomedical designer. As a master’s student at the University of Toronto in the Biomedical Communication (BMC) Program I learned how crucial it is to build relationships with those you work with, this makes projects stronger and more purposeful. The BMC program has equipped me to use my passion for communication to collaborate with a variety of people from doctors and patients to developers and designers. As a practising biomedical communicator storytelling, visual representation, and co-collaboration have become my foundation for creating dynamic projects. I look forward to furthering my experience as a biomedical communicator through beautifully visualizing the unseen biomedical world.
